Aria's Mom

Monday, July 28, 2008

Our month of July started out as busy as our month, in June. Not much rest for the weary. The summer seems to be passing us by at a high rate of speed. Aria has been been busy with friends, parties, camps and vacations. She and her dad spent their annual week in Corpus Christi, with Mark's family, including her 3 cousins, Noah, Roman & Issak. I understand a lot of fun was had, although they had to come home a day early to avoid Hurricane Dolly. Aside from some power outage, fortunately, all family managed well through the storms. My friend Genevieve and I had a date night in the interim. We went to dinner, walked until the outlets closed, went home and watched a movie, ate all the desserts we bought at Le Madeleine and had a long awaited visit. We actually planned our trip to Canton for this year (coming in October). Mark and I decided to take this past weekend for ourselves, and we drove to Galveston. While Aria was occupied with a slumber party, and worked hard at giving Aunt Laurie a pounding via the Wii (bowling), Mark and I had a nice time eating out at Luigi's and walking "The Strand", touring the Titanic Exhibit at Moody Gardens and walking the beach. I'll let him tell the story about IMAX....

Having a drink at the bar, prior to dinner.
1 1/2 drinks did me in!

Stopping off at Moody Gardens for the Titanic Exhibit.

Walking the beach.

"A TOAST"
to, regardless of what direction this country is lead,
that our traditions never die....
Happy 4th of July!!

Thought for the long weekend:

“Love is the one business in which it pays to be
an absolute spendthrift: Give it away;
throw it away; splash it over;
empty your pockets; shake the basket;
And tomorrow you’ll have more than ever.”

Luke 6:38- “Give and it will be given to you.
A good measure pressed down, shaken together
and running over, will be poured into your lap.
For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Have a fun Fourth of July!
